The Manhasset Girls Track Team did something that has never been done before--they became the County Class "B" champions on Saturday Feb. 9. The team racked up their winning score by placing in the following events:

• The 4x200 Meter Relay team of Olivia Amato, Nina Kucharczyk, Devon Lawrence, and Jasmine Blocker placed 1st.

• Pat McNish placed 1st in the Long Jump and Triple Jump and 2nd in the 55 Meter Hurdles.

• Jasmine Blocker placed 2nd in the 300 Meter and the 600 Meter.

• Nina Kucharczyk placed 3rd in the 300 Meter.

• Olivia Amato placed 4th in the 55 Meter.

• Devon Lawrence placed 2nd in the Long Jump and 6th in the Triple Jump.

• The 4x400 Meter Relay team of Catherine Avallone, Kathleen Hanlon, Kaela Sprotte and Emily Easton placed 6th with a time of 4:56.5.

Ali Perez, Meghan Grimm, Elizabeth Bourguet and Leah Ruggiero made a great effort in the 4x800 Meter Relay. The Championship was down to the relays. Manhasset finished with 77 points with the second place team just 6 points behind. The girls are coached by Steve Sproul and Leslie Allen.
