Manhasset High School senior Kadeem Howell qualified for the indoor track and field national championships on Saturday, Jan. 5 by triple jumping 46 feet 4 inches at the Hispanic Games in the New York City Armory. Howell's jump ranks him third in New York State; fifth in the eastern U.S. and 15th in the United States. Kadeem is a returning All-State triple jumper from 2007 and a Empire State Games scorer from this summer. He is being recruited by 15 eastern U.S. track schools.
The Indoor Boys Track team has qualified 22 athletes for the conference championships held Tuesday, Jan. 29 at Suffolk County Community College.
