Manhasset's own Warriors soccer team finished the fall season with eight wins, and one tie, (undefeated) and won the Long Island Junior Soccer league's 5W under age 15 girls division. These soccer players won their division by playing as selfless teammates; always ready to win the ball, never giving up, and always playing in a true sportsman like manner. The one tie game was played without a full team on the field due to injuries and players having other commitments that weekend. But even playing short-handed (only nine out of 11 on the field) the Warriors rallied to a tie, and it certainly felt like a win!
During the season, the feisty offense scored 23 goals in 9 games and the crushing defense permitted only 7 goals against the entire season. Goalie Correy Denihan managed an impressive four shutout games and the team's high scorer was Taylor Liberta banging in over half of the goals scored for the season. The team spirit of the Warriors is especially impressive when you have freshman players coming together from five different high schools; Friend's Academy, Lawrenceville Academy, Manhasset High School, Sacred Heart Academy and St. Mary's High School. The coaches are especially grateful to the very supportive group of parents and the terrific support for and program run by the Manhasset Soccer Club.
