A Special Event in Flower Hill
It was a cold and blustery morning but the atmosphere was warm and friendly! Residents of Flower Hill along with dignitaries and honored guests gathered at the Flower Hill Village Hall on Saturday, Nov. 3 to dedicate the Flower Hill Park and to bury a time capsule commemorating the 75th Anniversary of the founding of the village.

Nassau County Executive Thomas R. Suozzi recently encouraged property owners to appeal the tax assessments on their properties --- free of charge --- through the county's website instead of signing up with expensive grievance firms who solicit their services before the start of the filing period.

Manhasset Middle School Girls Tennis Ends Outstanding Season
The Manhasset Middle School Girls Tennis team, consisting of 24 seventh- and eighth-graders, ended their season with a 7-1 record, only losing their last match in a close run against Jericho. Led by eighth-grade captains, Kristin Miller, Francesca Querci and seventh-grade co-captain Collier Sutter, the girls consistently demonstrated good sportsmanship and team spirit.

Manhasset Boys Cross-Country Team Scores in Rhode Island
The Manhasset High School Boys Cross-Country team traveled to Providence, RI on Oct. 19-20 to race in the 26th Annual Brown University Invitational Cross-Country Meet. This was the 24th year the team has traveled to this meet at Goddard State Park, which includes teams from Rhode Island, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire and New York schools.
