On Friday, Oct. 6, the girls team competed in the Nassau County Division C Swim Championship at Eisenhower Aquatic Center.
After Tuesday's diving champs the Indians were behind over 60 points to Farmingdale and 17 points to favorite Sewanhaka. Other Division C teams include Massapequa, Port Washington, Syosset, Hicksville, Hempstead and Westbury.
On the line for Manhasset was the streak of four consecutive division titles. The task at hand was apparent, the girls would have to utilize their team depth in the pool and outswim their opponents. In a turnaround from the dual meet loss to Sewanhaka, Manhasset swam to an early lead that they would not relinquish. In each event, all four Manhasset swimmers finished in a scoring position (top 20). Manhasset was the only team in the division to achieve this milestone. In the end it was this total team performance that helped secure the Division C Championship. The final score Manhasset 601, Sewanhaka 576, Farmingdale 474.5, Syosset 352, Massapequa 333.5, Port Washington 315, Hicksville 159, Hempstead 117 and Westbury 84.
