I am thrilled to announce that our community has chartered a Special Education Parent Teacher Association (SEPTA). SEPTA is officially here!
I, along with my co-president Seval LaRocca, would like to thank everyone in Manhasset for making this event happen. We feel privileged to serve our gifted and special education families as presidents of the Manhasset SEPTA. Thank you to every parent, teacher, and staff member who came out to become members of the first ever Special Education PTA in Manhasset!
I would also like to thank the board of education for their support and efforts that allowed us to reach out to the community. Cindy Cardinal, Carlo Prinzo, Pat Aitken, Larry Belinsky, and Aline Katchadourain have shown us their commitment to Manhasset's students, particularly the ones who need them most-our special education population. We look forward to working with you to enhance the educational experience for our gifted and special needs students.
Manhasset SEPTA would like to extend a special thank you to our district's superintendent and pupil services staff. Superintendent Charles Cardillo clearly showed the community his support by attending our charter meeting. Thank you very much for joining us! Thanks to the Director of Special Education, Allison Rushforth, for welcoming our efforts, attending the charter meeting, and signing our charter. We look forward to working closely with her in the future. Pupil Services Assistant Director Barbara Longo and Special Education Coordinator Laura Fine attended the SEPTA presentation and the charter meeting for which we are grateful. Thank you ladies for your support!
We look forward to a fabulous first year with many workshops, presenters, and fund raising events for the entire town to enjoy. Our goal is to support every special needs child at home, in school, and within our community. Thank you Manhasset for taking the first step to achieve this goal with us.
