The following public address announcement was made to all Manhasset Secondary School students and staff on Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 31, by Dr. Dean Schlanger, secondary school principal as reported on List Serve.

"On Oct. 17, we received a threatening phone call and decided to evacuate the building. The individual making this call has been identified and will be arrested.

Yesterday at 2:24 p.m., we received a phone bomb threat. The person making this threat has been identified and has been arrested.

I would like to thank the students for their mature behavior and support during these serious events.

"The administration and faculty have your interest in mind when action is taken during these emergency situations. Your understanding and support make safely managing these difficult situations so much easier. Thank you very much for your understanding and your support."
