Opinion

(Ed. Note: The following letter was sent to Mr. Jim Regan by one of the Army Rangers who were honored guests at the inaugural Lead The Way Golf Outing on Sept. 13, and is printed here at the author's request.)

The guys had a great time at the outing and dinner yesterday. Honestly, we can't thank you guys enough for the generosity and support. We love what we do and we all joined the Rangers to defend and protect the people of America, the people of Manhasset, Long Island. There is no better feeling than coming home and being around people who support what we do and understand what we go through. It is great to see that we can have a positive effect on the emotions of individuals whom we look at as very powerful and influential people.

We all fully understand the fact that we may have to lay down the ultimate sacrifice like Sgt. James Regan did. We accept that proudly because of America's citizens, like the ones who reside in Manhasset, Long Island. Yesterday was one of the best experiences of my military career because it showed the patriotism that Americans have. Your support and attitude give a distinct purpose to our mission. I will keep in touch and, once again, thanks for everything.
