Returning students at Manhasset High School will find a most pleasant surprise on Sept. 5, thanks to the many Manhasset Booster Club supporters that helped make the new Manhasset High School Fitness Center a reality. The new fitness center, located adjacent to the main gymnasium (in the former wrestling room), boasts brand-spanking new, state-of-the art equipment including myriad weight lifting and free standing aerobic apparatus. The room itself has been completely refurbished with restored wood flooring, brand new exercise matting, including "Manhasset Blue and Orange" wall matting as well. The work to restore the fitness center began in the late spring and will be available for all Manhasset High School students upon their return from summer vacation. Teams will now be able to work out together in the spacious room and trainers will be available to work with the athletes, showing them the proper way to use the new equipment. The coaches and physical education staff are excited about making use of the fitness center.

The Manhasset Booster Club is composed of parents of students and members of the community who are concerned with the promotion of properly supervised athletics in the Manhasset Public Schools. In addition to supporting projects such as the fitness center, the Booster Club offers financial assistance for team trips and sponsors various team tournaments during the academic year. The Booster Club wishes to thank all those who contributed to the fitness center.
