American Legion Post 304 Announces Parade Plans
John F. Keitz, Commander of the Manhasset Post 304, American Legion and Anthony W. Buzzitta, parade chairman, have announced the Parade Order and schedule for the traditional Manhasset Memorial Day Parade, and for the attendant memorial services. All Manhasset residents, their families and friends are invited to join the Legion in this remembrance of the great sacrifices of American heroes.

School Budget Passes; Incumbents Returned to School Board
On May 15 the community approved the school budget by a vote of 2009 to 1577, a margin of 432 votes. Incumbents Larry Belinsky and Aline Khatchadourian were re-elected to serve their second terms.

MHS JV Tennis Team Second Place Finish
Manhasset High School's Junior Varsity Tennis Team completed a successful season with a 12-2 record. A season highlight was the victory against the undefeated Herricks squad (11-0). Playing 1st singles, CJ Quackenbush defeated his competitor in a superb tie-breaker. The team's singles players were Quackenbush and AJ Scaramucci (captains) and Tom Lavin.

Manhasset Varsity Baseball Wins in County Playoffs
Led by the one-hit, 11 strike-out performance by senior pitcher Danny Barnes, the Manhasset Varsity Baseball team defeated New Hyde Park High School 6-0 on May 19 and advanced in the Nassau County play-offs. Next up for the Indians will be Garden City, scheduled for May 21 and taking place after this paper's printing deadline.
