Questions for Manhasset School Board Candidates
On May 15 Manhasset will head to the polls to vote on the school budget and elect two candidates to sit on the board of education. Four individuals are running for two open positions - Larry Belinsky, Martin Dekom, Aline Khatchadourian and Jack Vivinetto - and the Manhasset Press requested each candidate respond to the same questions in order to provide the community with an understanding of where the candidates stand on various issues. Each question is followed by the candidate's responses in alphabetical order.

Manhasset Park District Withdraws Request
The Manhasset Park District had requested the town to take the necessary steps to secure a Bond Anticipation Note ("BAN") to help fund the construction of a new facility to operate as the district headquarters and garage.

Manhasset Annual Day of Baseball Is Saturday, May 12
The Manhasset High School Booster Club would like to invite one and all to the annual Manhasset Day of Baseball on Saturday, May 12. The day offers an opportunity to come out and support this year's exciting varsity team as it readies itself for the county playoffs as well as to sit back and enjoy the company of many fellow Manhasset baseball boosters.

Second Annual Dinner Celebrates Manhasset Hockey
The second Annual Dinner for Manhasset Hockey was held Sunday night at the Manhasset Bay Yacht Club. The dinner served as a celebration of the second year of the Manhasset Middle School Hockey Club and the inaugural season for the Manhasset-Roslyn Varsity Hockey Club and the progress of our community hockey program. The middle school's record improved over last season and the team was far more balanced than the previous season. With the growth and experience of the club's more senior players, and an anticipated influx of young talent, the future looks bright. The varsity team, which was a joint venture with neighboring Roslyn, exceeded all expectations producing three players who were the league's leading scorers and a squad that reached the championship round.
