John Gagliardi at the USA Games.

When John Gagliardi is not playing lacrosse for the Long Island Lizards or with Team USA, he can be found teaching the game of lacrosse to young players in Manhasset and all across the United States. He co-founded No Limit Lacrosse Camp in 1999 with Paul Carcaterra, which was recently named the No. 1 lacrosse camp in America by Sports Illustrated. This past summer John represented Team USA and achieved one of the highest honors in lacrosse, being named to the All-World Team, an award given to the top 10 players at the World Championships.

His passion for the game started in the Manhasset PAL system under coaches like Doc Nicosia and Rob Reddington. After graduating from Johns Hopkins University in 1997, John and Paul Carcaterra (Syracuse University All-American) joined together to form No Limit Lacrosse Camps (www.nolimitlacrosse). What started out as one camp on Long Island has since turned into a series of summer camps and fall leagues. This summer on Long Island, No Limit has one of its camp sessions at The Green Vale School in Old Brookville (July 9-July 13). Some of the top NCAA and pro players will be in attendance, teaching the game with the latest cutting edge instruction. Sports Illustrated called No Limit the best lacrosse camp in America due to the level of instruction and positive message that is preached at the camp, ranking No Limit above over 250 different lacrosse camps in North America. Gagliardi also coaches the Manhasset PAL sixth grade team each spring. "Coaching kids and teaching them the newest techniques and then watching them execute these new techniques is very rewarding. Watching the kids work together and having fun in the process is what sports is all about."

Within five minutes of this interview it is obvious that he loves teaching young players, and watching them develop into young men who often become college recruited athletes. Outside of the No Limit Camps, John has started Maverik Lacrosse, which is quickly gaining popularity across the U.S. "I am lucky to do what I love each day. Between playing in the pros, coaching at No Limit Camps, and developing lacrosse equipment through

Maverik Lacrosse, I have been fortunate to make a career out of lacrosse."

"Someone came up to me the other day at a high school game and told me that this young defenseman from Manhasset was going to be a better player than I was," Gagliardi recounted. "I believe he thought I was going to be upset by his comment. I was really pumped to hear that. I hope he gets to live out his dreams and experience everything I have experienced through the game of lacrosse. I am also pumped that he is from Manhasset."
