Since October 2006, the Manhasset seventh grade Island Garden basketball team has played extremely well in the 7-2 division, going 9-0 for the first half schedule. In the second half, they will compete against teams in the 7-1, 8-1 and 8-2 divisions. Thus far, they have continued to play well at this level, winning three games against teams from both the 7-1 and 8-2 divisions. Their only loss of the season came from a team in the 8-1 division. The team now stands at 12-1. Five games remain in the regular season before the playoffs.

Members of the Island Garden team are PJ Barry, Yianni Gavalis, Michael Marciano, Ryan Matthews, Conor McNamara, Danny Merola, Jack Salter, Will Salter, and Alessandro Troia.
