For the fourth consecutive year, the Greentree Foundation has made a substantial grant to the Manhasset Community Fund for distribution to address priority needs facing the people of the Town of North Hempstead. Since October 2006, the Manhasset seventh grade Island Garden basketball team has played extremely well in the 7-2 division, going 9-0 for the first half schedule. In the second half, they will compete against teams in the 7-1, 8-1 and 8-2 divisions. Thus far, they have continued to play well at this level, winning three games against teams from both the 7-1 and 8-2 divisions. Their only loss of the season came from a team in the 8-1 division.
