*The sixth grade St. Mary's girls team coached by Barbara Kiggins and Jerry Vanderberg rang up three more victories and improved their record to 7 - 0. St. Mary's defeated St. Aidan's 25-22 in overtime behind the scoring of Chez DeLuca, Caitlin Vanderberg, Michele Bruno, Jennifer Kiggins and Katie Coffee. Caitlin Vanderberg scored four of her points from the foul line in overtime. Next up was a 27 - 24 victory over Notre Dame behind the scoring of DeLuca, Vanderberg, Bruno, Jessica Berestecki and Catarina Russo who scored her first basket. Kayla Feeney and Tiffany Adrien had many rebounds with Ariana Celifarco, Kate Brescia, Laura Trocchia and Demi Karagiannis playing strong defense. They then defeated Corpus Christi 26 - 22 behind the scoring of DeLuca, Bruno, Berestecki, Vanderberg and Coffee. Kiggins, Brescia and Celifarco had many assists. Feeney and Adrien had many rebounds. Russo and Karagiannis played strong defense.

*Coach Bob Hart and Jim Crosson's fifth - grade girls team won their third consecutive game this past Saturday with a 34 to 18 victory over St. Aidans. The girls had a great offensive performance. All of the girls that played scored including Abby Kucharczyk, Ally Hart, Emily Koufakis, Emily Papa, Julia Glynn, Morven Whalley, Haley Crosson and Syndey Young. The team's overall record is now 4 - 3 and looking to continue improving on all aspects of the game in the coming weeks.

*The fifth - grade girls team (Connolly/George) continued their winning ways with two big victories this weekend. The girls have now won six in a row. On Saturday, the girls won an exciting game against St. Aidan's 27-26. The girls were down by 12 points late in the game and came roaring back with fantasitc defense and clutch shooting. Tara Belinsky hit two critical foul shots with 10 seconds to go to cut the St. Aidan's lead to one point. Natalie Stefan then stole the ball and hit a driving lay up with four seconds to go for the win. Other big baskets were made by Jaclyn D'Alleva and Kelsey Connolly. On Sunday, the girls beat Our Lady of Victory 34-20. Outstanding play by Stacey Rubertone, Priya Alagesan, Erin Coleman, Sara Henry, Olivia Belinsky and Nicole George contributed to the well-earned victory.

*On the boys side, Dave Brooks' seventh - grade boys team ran its record to 3 - 0 with a victory over St. Dominic's behind the scoring of Will Salter, Mike Mancini, Conor McNamara, Andrew Brooks, Mikey Christopher and John Kiggins. Ryan Murray, Phillip Iervolino, Jack Salter contributed in every way in a hard fought intense battle.

*Paul Lennon's fifth - grade boys team faced a tough St. Gertrude's team and came away with 35-32 victory. Scoring was led by Alex Gray and Billy Meed and rebounding led by Patrick Moodhe and Matt Basso. On Sunday the boys suffered a tough loss to St. William's 32 - 31. Ryan Miller and Ryan Lennon led the offense.
