George Becker, chairman and organizer of the Annual Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast with Robert Stainkamp, Town & Country Florist and member of Kiwanis Club of Manhasset.

The Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast was held on Sunday, Oct. 29 at Manhasset High School and was attended by approximately 500 local community members. Members of the Kiwanis Club of Manhasset, Key Clubs of both Manhasset High School and Great Neck South High School, and local volunteers all made the breakfast a delicious success.
The pancake breakfast has been in existence since 1968, originally developed as a fundraiser for the Kiwanis Scholarship Foundation. After almost 40 years it is still a main fundraiser with money going to scholarships, the Kiwanis Pediatric Trauma Center at North Shore Hospital, and needy children in the community.
The Kiwanis Club of Manhasset is involved in many community activities to help children, such as Bring Up Your Grades, where students from elementary, middle, and high school are recognized for improving their grades, sending children to summer camp (Kamp Kiwanis), taking disadvantaged children to Shea Stadium to see their first baseball game, and many more activities.
Kiwanis is open to all members of the community and if you would like to get involved and help develop future leaders, contact Jo-Anne Sutton at 365- 4464.
