The Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast was held on Sunday, Oct. 29 at Manhasset High School and was attended by approximately 500 local community members. North Hempstead Supervisor Jon Kaiman and the town board have announced that former Republican Councilman Jim O'Connor has been picked to head the Town's Building Department. O'Connor, who was appointed with unanimous bipartisan support, will head the department's new management team. FULL STORY

Mike Rubertone, MHS senior, is one of the first Manhasset athletes this year to receive a National Letter of Intent and a college sports scholarship. Mike received his letter of intent from Fairfield University to play baseball. At Mike's official letter signing, held last week at the high school, high school Principal Richard A. Monday, Oct. 2, Sands Point Golf Club was the site for the Kevin R. Murphy Memorial Golf Classic. Over 75 golfers from as far away as Syracuse and Rhode Island traveled to Long Island to pay tribute to Kevin whose life was unexpectedly cut short at the age of 51. FULL STORY
