Dorothy Louis Irish was born January 13, 1911 and passed away peacefully on August 27, 2006 in Walnut Creek, California. She graduated from the Lincoln School in 1928 and was awarded a BFA summa cum laude from NYU in 1932. Dorothy married John Stedman Irish in 1936, and was a Long Island resident until 1976. Dorothy was a talented painter and a lifetime member of the National Association of Women Artists. After her husband's death she moved closer to her family in California. She is survived by her daughters Leslie Haines and Lynda Hay, in addition to three granddaughters and two great-grandchildren.
