An act of vandalism was discovered Friday, Aug. 18 by Manhasset Park District employees on the property known as "the four acres" located between Shelter Rock Road and Old Shelter Rock Road as you approach the entrance to Strathmore Vanderbilt. The destructive act took place closer to the first of two "pullovers." Five trees were cut down on the property and a report was filed with the 6th Precinct. The Manhasset Park District asks that residents who witness any suspicious activity on park district property contact the 6th Precinct Police or the Manhasset Park District.
