Mr. Carmody's long tirade and attack on the Presidency of the United States during war time is just another case of looking back in anger over losing both elections to Bush. While this is his prerogative, what we need is a more constructive dialogue going forward on how to win the war we are already in whether you are for or against it. Mistakes have been made in every war in our history, including some isolated cases of atrocities because war is hell. Nevertheless, we only lost one war and that was Vietnam despite the dedicated effort of our fighting force. We pulled out because our country was divided and we lost our resolve.
We can't let that happen in this war because it is not a Vietnam situation and we have a lot more at stake both here and abroad. Ayman al Zawahiri and his band of cut throats know that they cannot beat us militarily so, like Vietnam, they are counting on us to lose our resolve and all this anti-war rhetoric especially from pinhead senators like Kerry, Feingold, Kennedy and others are who helping the enemy. These are the same boys who voted to send our troops in harm's way and now when the going gets rough they want to cut and run.
The one overwhelmingly negative fact cited by Mr. Carmody is that Bush lied to everyone about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. This was the major thrust of his debate rooted in so-called facts. He failed to mention that Saddam Hussein did use weapons of destruction on his own people which is a fact. Also, they did find some weapons of mass destruction last week which was even reported by the left wing media. Also, they expect to find more, so we await an apology about calling our president a liar.
