Manhasset's outdoor track team had several County Champions and they ran in the 2006 Outdoor State Championships at St. Lawrence University - Canton, NY, June 9 and June 10.
Shannon Mason (11th) ran (10.9) in the 100 meters and (22.3) in the 200 meters to win County Championships and will represent Nassau County and Manhasset by running both events at the state meet. Mason was undefeated in the 100m and 200m this season.
Carlton McCrimmon (11th) was County Champion in the triple jump (42'8"); long jump (20'8") and high jump (6') for 22 points and MVP of the county meet. McCrimmon will do the triple jump at the state meet.
Mason and McCrimmon will join Andreas Molnar (11th) and Kadeem Howell (10th) and run the state 4x400m relay for their county.
Jasmin Blocker (8th) was the County Champion in the 100 meters and 200 meters for the girls' team. Blocker ran (12.6) 100 meters and (26.2) 200 meters and joins Andrew Hayes (8th) cross-country as the only eighth-graders in Manhasset history to compete at the state meet in the running sports.
Blocker competed in both events at the state meet at St. Lawrence University on Friday, June 9 and Saturday, June 10.
