What Will Flower Hill Do With the Park?
It's official! The Village of Flower Hill has its own park. Thanks to the efforts of Nassau County Legislator Craig Johnson and Mayor Charles Weiss, the county has agreed to deed 6.38 acres of land to the village to be used as a recreational site. The final transfer will occur after special legislation has been passed by the state. The announcement was made at the board of trustees monthly meeting on Monday, June 5. The parkland faces the village hall and is bounded by Port Washington Boulevard, Stonytown Road and Bonnie Heights Road. The picturesque site has been cleared but there are no definite plans for further work. The village arborist, Ann Frankel, will chair the committee formed to discuss ways in which all the residents can share the park. In the meantime, take a few minutes and go for a stroll to see this lovely, unspoiled area.
