The Long Island Lizards re-acquired attackman Tim Goettelmann from the Denver Outlaws, in a trade that sent 23-year-old Chris Cara and a pair of draft picks out west. The Lizards lost Goettelmann, a team captain who has played for Long Island since the league's inception in 2001, in the MLL Expansion Draft earlier this year. "We were disappointed when we lost Timmy in the MLL Expansion Draft," said Lizards Head Coach Jim Mule. "He's an original Lizard who has been a very important part of our team and represents everything you want in a player."

Goettelmann was nicknamed "Monster" for his size; which the 6'4" attackman certainly uses to his advantage. Tim holds the MLL record for goals scored in a game, scoring nine goals (on only10 shots) against New Jersey in 2003. In his five years with the Lizards, Goettelmann has scored 131 career goals, an average of 26 per season. Goettelmann (Pronounced: GET-ul-mun) is a graduate of Loyola College, and a native of Manhasset, NY.
