The Manhasset Booster Club and Manhasset PAL in conjunction with NoLimit/Maverik Lacrosse and the Athletic Department of Manhasset High School are proud to announce the inaugural "JD32 LAX DAY" to be held on Saturday afternoon and evening on April 22 at the Manhasset High School stadium field.
The entire Manhasset community is invited to watch a full day of fantastic lacrosse, ranging from the PAL program to the MHS boys and girls varsity teams. The day will be a celebration of lacrosse in honor of one of the finest lacrosse players to ever grace a lacrosse field, Manhasset's own John Driscoll, who died prematurely of a brain tumor in 2003. In addition to celebrating Manhasset's long connection with lacrosse, the day also will raise funds to help support John's widow and three children.
John Driscoll graduated from MHS in 1976 and went on to win many team and individual honors in lacrosse. A complete biography is available at www.jd32lax.com, a website created for this event. In addition to his outstanding athleticism, those who knew John were most impressed by his character and courage. The day will feature not only outstanding lacrosse, but also raffles, auctions and T-shirts to raise money for the foundation established for John's triplets. Donations may be made on-line at www.jd32lax.com and at the field. Everyone in the lacrosse community is encouraged to check out the website, make a donation and to "spread the word."
Schedule of games:
1:30 p.m. girls PAL game (grade TBA)
3 p.m. seventh grade boys tournament team sponsored by Manhasset PAL and by No Limit/Maverik lacrosse
