Carol Rainson-Rose

Carol Rainson-Rose, a former Manhasset High School graduate, was inducted into the Long Island Metropolitan Lacrosse Foundation Hall of Fame (2005). The 21st annual Hall of Fame Dinner and awards were held at the Sheraton LI Hotel, Smithtown on Friday, Feb. 3. There were eight inductees, including two women.
Carol had 171 lacrosse goals in her career at Manhasset High School (highest goal scorer four years in a row, 1979-1982); All-County Lacrosse 1981 and 1982; member of Manhasset Hall of Fame.
In her lacrosse career at SUNY Cortland State, Rainson-Rose was the first woman to achieve over 100 career goals and was named All-American Second Team, All-Region First Team and All-State First Team in 1986.
Today, Carol is physical education teacher/building athletic coordinator for the Northport school district, as well as varsity lacrosse coach at Northport High School. Since 1990, her lacrosse teams have been Suffolk County champions five times and Long Island champions three times. They have been to the NY State semifinals three times and NY State finals two times. She has produced 22 All-Americans and over 30 Northport players have gone on to play Division 1 lacrosse.
Carol is founder of the traveling Girls Club Lacrosse Team: L.I. Elite Yellow Jackets.
Her husband Alton Rose and two sons Cobi, 9 and Cameron, 7, are very proud of Carol. Proud, also, are parents Maryann and Albert G. Rainson of Manhasset.
