A memorial service will be held in remembrance of John Konko, USMC, loving brother, brother-in-law, uncle and great-uncle of Halyna and Tony Sarlanis, on March 5, 2006, at 3:15 p.m., Shelter Rock Church, 626 Plandome Road, Manhasset.

Jurhee Galloway Sabbatino passed away at the age of 102 years and four months on Sunday, Feb. 5, 2006. She was the oldest resident at North Shore University Hospital's Center for Extended Care and Rehabilitation.

Jurhee, daughter of an oil wildcatter, James Otis Galloway, was born in Indian Territory in what is now the City of Duncan, outside of Oklahoma City. She was a woman of courage, commitment and determination: First female graduate of University of Colorado at Boulder's School of Music; leader of Brooklyn Red Cross during World War II; early pioneer in using music in teaching special-needs children in the New York City school system and an over 50-year active member of the North Shore Branch of the American Association of University Women, having received in 1998 its highest honor, a named gift to the Educational Foundation.

A memorial is planned for late April.

John F. Drummey Jr., of Manhasset, died peacefully on Thursday, Feb. 9, 2006 at the Cold Springs Hills Nursing Home, Woodbury. He was 77 years old.

He was the beloved son of the late John and Dorothy (Birmecombe) Drummey and is survived by his daughters Micaele Scarpulla, East Hampton, Deborah Cronin, Melrose, MA and Christine Eakins, Houston, TX, his sister Dorothy Helmus, Ridgefield, CT, and brothers James Drummey, York, ME, William Drummey, Windham, ME and Richard Drummey, Doylestown, PA. He was the adoring grandfather of Taylor and Chrissie Cronin, Luke Scarpulla and Amelia Eakins.

Born in Winthrop, MA and raised on Long Island, he was an avid fan of the NY Giants and Manhasset High School lacrosse, and enjoyed the camaraderie of many lifelong friends.

A memorial service will be held at Fairchild Sons Funeral Home, 1570 Northern Blvd., Manhasset, NY at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 11, 2006. Relatives and friends who wish to pay their respects are welcome to attend.
