Andrew Miller, of Miller, Lilly and Pearce, certified public accountants for the Manhasset School District, is indited by a grand jury and arrested in conjunction with the Roslyn School District scandal. Rotary and Kiwanis clubs support the Coalition for a Safer Manhasset (CSM). The Outpost at MHS responds to Hurricane Katrina. Terrance Molinari and Tommy Dodge are undefeated in the Empire Games. The litter prevention team is visible on Plandome Road. CSM sponsors Safety Day, a "traffic stopping success." Manhasset School District examines transportation problems at school board meeting. MHS girls' crew rows to 12th in the nation. The Manhasset Chamber of Commerce honors Sheila Brennan and Thomas O'Malley. MHS fall musical is Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat. Suozzi launches school tax reduction campaign. William Baxter inducted into the newly established NYS Vetrans Hall of Fame. Buttercookie Bakery opens on Plandome Road. MHS student Ashish Bakshi is invited to present at prestigious ASEE Conference. Five mayors of local villages signed an agreement establishing a plan for mutual assistance should a disaster strike locally. Vetrans' Day is celebrated with a parade. Two MHS students, Chris Kostoulas and Marisol Ryu qualify as Westinghouse semi-finalists. The MHS girls cross county team are champs.

SCA Saturday Series presents Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Manhasset 10/11 year olds take first place in fall baseball league. Sisth grade boys are undefeated and win basketball tournament. The Christmas tree lighting ceremony in Manhasset sparks a major "front page" controversy. The Good Shepherd movie crew returns to Munsey Park for a day to film a winter scene. Manhasset schools adopt a school district affected by Hurricane Katrina. There are international adoptions in Manhasset. Samantha Baard is appointed MHS student delegate to sit on the board of education. Options are explored necessitated by increased enrollment at Munsey Park Elementary School. BOE president Cindy Cardinal questions the NYS Comptrollers categorization of the school district under the category "fraudulent activity" and is told by his office that the fraud referred to is that the district's auditor had falsely claimed his audit complied with audit standards. There was never mention of fraud on the part of Manhasset officials nor was fraud mentioned in the comptroller's final report. The Manhasset-Lakeville Fire Department installs Lee Strickland as new chief. The League of Women Voters launches study on NYS education funding. Roger Corbin looks to unseat Judy Jacobs as presiding officer. Comptroller Weitzman calls for a review of special taxing districts claiming Nassau County has too many layers of government.
