North Hempstead Town Officials Hold Inaugural Ceremony
The Clinton Martin Park Recreational Center in New Hyde Park was packed and abuzz on Jan. 2 as hundreds of people filed in to witness the swearing-in of Town of North Hempstead Supervisor Jon Kaiman, Town Clerk Michelle Schimel and Councilmembers Angelo Ferrara, Robert Trioiano and Lee Seeman.

Indian Cagers Split Tough Week
Manhasset High School's boys varsity basketball team had two big games last week, against the pre-season second seeded Roslyn and first seeded West Hempstead. The Indians fared well by splitting the week, in losing to Roslyn in a tightly contested 66-59, while beating West Hempstead last Friday night in a wild and tough game, 54-51.

Boys Swim to Three School Records
Last years' boys swim team captured the conference 2 title with an undefeated 8-0 record. Their success earned them the last (#8) seed in Conference 1. Although the 2006 season has been a trying one from a win loss standpoint (1-6), the Indians have posted some impressive times.
