Jean Sanchelli (nee Lovenduski), age 87, who relocated from Queens, NY in 1999, went to her rest Nov. 15, 2005. She had been the wife of the late Frank L. She lived with her son, Robert R. Alden, (prior marriage) and his wife, Loretta. She is also survived by a second son, Jerome Sanchelli and his wife, Ingrid of West Islip, NY. She was grandmother to four granchildren, Cheryl L. Alden, Donna Manca (nee Sanchelli) of Winchendon, MA, Cindy Capwell (nee Sanchelli) of Palm City, FL and Andrew Sanchelli of Holtsville, NY. Grandmother of four. Memorials may be made to the Hospice Services of Southwest General, 18659 Drake Rd., Strongsville, OH 44136. Funeral Service was held at Fairchild Funeral Chapel, Manhasset on Nov. 20, 2005. Interment Nassau Knolls Cemetery, Port Washington, Nov. 21.

Arthur Julius Rock, born on April 2, 1926 in New York, passed away Sunday, Oct. 30, 2005. Arthur's father moved to Manhasset in 1926 and became the first full-time mailman in the town and was a mailman until his retirement in 1956 and Arthur's mother worked at the Plandome Road School. Rock himself graduated from Manhasset High School in 1943.

He joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1944. After service in the Pacific he attended and graduated from Pratt Institute in 1949. He fell in love with San Diego during his Marine Corps service. After working for Sperry Gyroscope in New York, Varian Associates in California, and as marketing director of various electronics companies, he realized his dream by returning to San Diego in 1976 to form his own company, Arthur Rock Associates, Inc. He retired in 2000 conveying ownership of the corporation to his partner in life and work, Connie Rock. Arthur was self-reliant and independent and encouraged those he loved to live up to his standards. He demonstrated his joie de vivre by his annual bicycle rides to San Clemente, his appreciation of fine dining, and his daily walks along the Solana and Del Mar beaches. Arthur enjoyed traveling in Europe, Central America and Asia. He enjoyed biking, snorkeling, snowmobiling and hiking in the states. He was an avid theater, concert and movie buff.

He is survived by his loving, devoted, and supportive wife of over 35 years, Connie Rock; his three children, Wendy Linck, Laurie Leonard and Steve Rock; his six grandchildren, Risa Leonard, Kelsey Leonard, Tristan Linck, Emily Rock, Jasmine Linck and Alexander Rock; his niece, Betty Rock and two nephews, Kenny and Bobby Rock, and his brother and constant friend, Ken Rock.

His zest for life and our memory of him will always be in our hearts. A private memorial service was held on Monday, Oct. 31.
