Led by senior captains Matt Brennan and Erik Lawrence Manhasset's boys cross-country team won its eighth Nassau County championship on Nov. 5 at Bethpage State Park. This was a special day for Manhasset as the girls cross-country team also won their country race - Manhasset was the only county school to win both titles.

Brennan made All-County and won his second Nassau County title, finishing first in Nassau County B. Lawrence - who finished eighth overall his sophomore year - has battled back from injuries to help his team to victory. The super underclassmen Richard Parsons (10), and Andrew Hayes (8), Robert Maisano (7) and David Knowles (9), have helped carry the team all year and did not disappoint in the county race. Jon Chiou (12) also scored for Manhasset in one of his better races

Parsons made the All-Conference and All-Division teams. Lawrence, Brennan, Hayes and Maisano also made the All-Division team.

The team took their championship and top seven runners to the State Championship at Queensbury, NY on Nov. 11 and 12.
