Wow, this was a record Hurricane soccer season, with the sixth grade girls devastating towns from Long Island to Westchester. The LIJSL Hurricanes played nine games, won six, lost one and tied two. This group of girls epitomized the concept of team play, with 11 of the 15-player roster having scored goals.

Most importantly, these girls loved playing soccer, with Brianna Smith, playing with a broken arm, and Tierney Flynn, playing with a broken hand. Charlotte Avallone, Meghan Breen and Natalie Debono tied for high scorer and Justine Sbarra, Caroline Casa Nova and Olivia Parisi tied for most assists. Emily Lattner, Taylor Tesher and Ally O'Neill secured the midfield, keeping the ball on the opponent's side of the field, while defensive backs Claudia Chieco, Claudia Steck and Katilin Miller stopped drive after drive. But, these d-backs also liked to score, with everyone having scored at least one goal. And, once again, "always smiling and always stopping," keeper Nicole Kiess was outstanding in goal. Great season girls!
