Joan L. Linn, 97, of Roslyn Heights, Bayside, East Hampton and Manhasset, died on Oct. 30, 2005. She was an RN supervisor at St. Mary's Children's Hospital, Bayside. Beloved wife of the late George Frederick Linn. Cherished mother of Catherine M., David K. and the late George F. Linn. Precious sister of the late Cornelius, Catherine, Donald O'Leary, Lillian Zilbert, Veronica Carousso and Margaret Baldwin. Dearly loved sister-in-law of Janice and Terri Linn. Also survived by four grandchildren, George IV, Michelle, Jeanette and Colleen; two great-grandchildren, Brianna and George V; and nieces and nephews. Graveside service held Nov. 5 at Most Holy Trinity RC Cemetery, East Hampton.
Nathalie Graven Dutra, 78, of Bedford, New Hampshire and resident of Manhasset from 1969 to 1994, died Nov. 1, 2005 at a Bedford, New Hampshire nursing facility.
She was born in Holland on January 29, 1927, the daughter of Joseph and Annette (Knipping) Graven. She attended the University of Fribourg, Switzerland.
She spent her early years in Switzerland and immigrated to the United States in 1951. After moving to the US, she met and married her husband, Commander (Ret.) John E. Dutra. Prior to moving to New Hampshire, they had resided in California, Hawaii, Japan, and New York.
In her life Mrs. Dutra played an active role in her husband's military career. In addition to caring for her family, she had been employed by Bonwit Teller, a department store in Manhasset. She also was an active volunteer at St. Francis Hospital in Roslyn, where she ran the gift shop and served as president of the hospital's guild. Nathalie's love for her family and pets were obvious to all who knew her. She was predeceased by a brother Joseph Graven.
Members of her family include her husband, Commander (Ret.) John E. Dutra of Bedford, NH; two sons, John E. Dutra IV of Bedford, NH, and Daniel E. Dutra of Londonderry, NH; a daughter, Michelle A. Dutra of Centennial, CO; four grandchildren; a sister, Antoinette Perkins of South Dennis, MA; four nieces and nephews.
