On Sunday, Nov. 6, the Manhasset Chamber of Commerce honored Sheila Brennan and Thomas O'Malley for their tireless work on behalf of the Manhasset Community Fund. The festivities took place at the Strathmore Vanderbilt Country Club and were well attended by Town of North Hempstead officials, including Supervisor Jon Kaiman, Councilmen Wayne Wink and Fred Pollack, Town Clerk Michelle Schimel and a host of friends, family and well-wishers.
Brennan recounted her early days of fundraising and then told of her more recent efforts on behalf of the residents of the area. O'Malley shared with the audience the accomplishments of the community fund this year. Co -chairs of the Manhasset Chamber of Commerce, Diane Harragan and Bernard Rolston hosted the event and Rita Eredics, event chairperson, on behalf of the chamber, praised both recipients of the Man and Woman of the Year Awards. Postmaster Bob Tromley acted as the emcee and presented both honorees with proclamations received from several elected officials.
It was a festive and elegant affair befitting two very hardworking volunteers.
