School Board Announces Superintendent Search Yields Candidate
The Manhasset School Board meeting was held Oct. 20 in the auditorium at Shelter Rock Elementary School and once it was established a quorum was present the meeting took off. Samantha Baard was designated student representative this year and she brings to the position standout qualifications. The search for a superintendent has produced a candidate, Charles Cardillo, who will be formally introduced and appointed at a special, official board meeting on Oct. 27 in the boardroom at the high school. Formerly he was deputy superintendent of the Sachem School District.

Munsey Park Village Meeting: Good Shepherd Returns, $100 Fines and Pending Road Work
The mayor and board of trustees of the Incorporated Village of Munsey Park held their regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 12 at Village Hall, and passed a resolution raising the fines for illegal parking around the Munsey Park School from $30 to $100.

Manhasset Boys Cross-Country Scores in Rhode Island
The Manhasset High School boys cross-country team traveled to Providence, RI to race in the October 13 and 14 to race in the 23rd Annual Brown Invitational Cross-Country Meet. This was the 21st year the team has traveled to this meet at Goddard Park, which includes teams from Rhode Island, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine and New York Schools.

Girls Swim to Three Relay Records
On Friday, Oct. 21 the Manhasset Girls Swim Team swam undefeated against six-time defending county champion Garden City at USMMA before a SRO crowd. The Indians gave their best effort coming up short by a score of 97-83.
