Marie Towes

Marie Towes, 52, loving daughter of Margaret and the late Don Betowski, died of cancer on Sept. 3, 2005.
She leaves, besides her mother, two sisters, Nancy Brooks of Port Washington, Paula Flaherty of Bethlehem, PA and a brother, Don Betowski Jr. of Las Vegas, NV. She leaves her son, Kendall Towes of Charlottesville, VA and her fiancé, Michael Richardson of England.
Marie was a noted stained glass artist at the McGuffy Art Center in Charlottesville, VA and won many awards.
Joyce Corcoran of Manhasset passed away on Sept. 14, 2005 at age 63. A long-time resident of Manhasset, many people knew her by her glowing smile. She was a devoted mother and wife and recently was blessed with two grandchildren who became her pride and joy. Joyce was a member of St. Mary's Parish in Manhasset and spent a great deal of time over the years offering her time to many causes. She spent her summers in Cutchogue, NY where she was a member of Our Lady of Ostrabama Church. Joyce spent her winters in Vero Beach, FL, where she was a member of Holy Cross Church and was active in the community. A dedicated teacher and selfless friend, she was always there for people in times of need. She enjoyed tending to her beautiful garden and entertaining family and friends.
Joyce leaves behind many friends and family members, including her husband, David, daughter Amy, son David and his wife, Karen, sister Lois and her two grandchildren Rose and Sean.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Fairchild Sons in Manhasset. A memorial service was held on Sept. 17 at St. Mary's Church followed by burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, NY.
