The Manhasset 2005 Girls 10-and-under softball team has won the Little League (Williamsport) District 28 Championship for the second year in a row! This year's team was made up of 11 players, four of whom returned from the 2004 Williamsport championship team, including Nicole Kiess, Charlotte Burt, Hope Whalen and Tara "Focus" Prufeta. The players new to the team this year are Jenna Motti, Emily Markham, Katie Giesecke, Megan Heaney, Katie Herburger, Elise Simon and Michelle Bruno. This year's team was coached by Kurt Kiess, Chris Motti and John Markham. The coaches held over 20 practices and observed great improvement with each player. "We are very proud of how the girls were able to focus and make a comeback over a very tough Albertson team, in the Championship game," stated Coach Kiess.

Along with the 12-and-under girls District 28 Championship, also won this year, the Manhasset girls are making a name for themselves in he softball world.
