School Board Meeting Is Organized, Focused, and Brisk
One of the first announcements at the July 28 school board meeting was that Judge Edward McCarty had remanded the Manhasset Board of Education to rebid the transportation service contract. On July 28 the bids reopened and on August 8 a contract will be awarded.
American Legion Auxiliary Installs Officers
The Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion, Manhasset Post 304, conducted its annual installation luncheon at the Jolly Fisherman Restaurant on June 14. This is the 30th year of the Auxiliary in Manhasset. Representatives of the Nassau County Auxiliary were on hand to officially install the new officers. Marie Cook, Nassau County president, conducted the ceremony. The officers for 2005-2006 are: president, Rita Eredics; first vice president, Doris Bezkor; second vice president, Kay Thornton; treasurer, Ronnie Snee; recording secretary, Mary Keogh; corresponding secretary, Anne Hedberg; historian, Alice Labella, and sgt. at arms, Mary Papasidero.
Williamsport Girls Play Sectional Quarterfinals
Early Saturday morning, the 11 and 12-year-old girls softball team went to Merillon in New Hyde Park to take on East End, the district 38 champions.
