The residents of the Village of North Hills registered their public comments on mapping freshwater wetland for the site of Chatham at North Hills II, the proposed condominium development for that village. Residents were invited to comment on whether or not that development should be given wetlands designation.

Manhasset residents, 60 and over, and their spouses of any age are encouraged to take advantage of this community health opportunity. More than a dozen registered nurses, all Manhasset volunteers, administer the flu and/or pneumonia vaccine.

William Butler Yeats once remarked that education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire. Those who knew Joseph Zoller were well aware that his passion for learning burned brightly. His family has established a scholarship fund at his Alma Mater, Fordham University, to provide financial assistance to those who might not otherwise be able to afford an advanced degree. While Joseph met a young and untimely death, his friends and family are encouraged by the possibility that through this scholarship fund the dreams of others may be ignited to burn brightly in his memory.

Elizabeth Henry, 13 of Manhasset leads the heat competing on behalf of the Jones Beach Lifeguard Corp -Junior Lifeguard Program sponsored by FPL Energy. The Junior Lifeguard Program trains hundreds of Long Island youngsters to safeguard Long Island, our beaches and our safety. FPL Energy is recognized for its environmental stewardship from organizations such as the World Wildlife Federation and the US Coast Guard.
