It was a record-breaking day as 20 Manhasset wrestlers won berths into this year's Country Tournament. Ten wrestlers, including Captains Marco Capetola and Anthony Charles advanced to the finals. Tournament Champs were: Marco Capetola, Steve Miditz, Steve Ficano and Matt Cornachio. Second-place honors went to: Anthony Charles, Lukasz Mosakowski, Mike Frangolis, Tom Morelli, Anthony Impellizeri and JP Pace. Sophomore, 125 pounder, Steve Mediz took additional honors with most pins in the least amount of time (three pins in six minutes and 12 sec. and also captured the Tournament Outstanding Wrestler Award.

"We started the 2004/2005 year with one goal, captured the B County Championship," commented Coach Guastella, "This victory took us one step closer toward that goal." The Matmen progressed onto the County tournament on Saturday, Feb. 19, 2005 and Sunday, Feb. 20, 2005.

Marco Capetola and Ryan Figlia finished the wrestling season as County Champs in their weight class. They represented Nassau County at the State Championship Meet March 3-6 in Albany.
