Preparations for the 2005 Around Long Island Regatta Are Under Way
The regional jewel of ocean racing is the Around Long Island Regatta, July 28, hosted by the Sea Cliff Yacht Club. This year will be the 29th consecutive running of the ALIR. Their stories and input over the past 30 years are invaluable. With the www.alir.org website already posting this year's entry applications, New York's only open ocean sailboat race is gearing up for the starting line on the 28th of July. Unprecedented coverage of the regatta is already in preproduction to create a three day webcast for regional as well as global audience viewing and participation. There will be helicopter coverage for both still and video filming at the start.
