Plandome Manor Board of Zoning Appeals
Over 60 residents crammed into the meeting room at the LI Science Museum on June 23 for a Plandome Manor Board of Zoning Appeals meeting. At issue was a home on Gristmill Lane that had been 80 percent remodeled until in December 2004 the village was alerted to several building code violations, and a stop-work order was issued.

On The Bay
Every once in a while we have a full week of great sailing. That is exactly what happened this past week for the many sailors who came from far and near to participate in the 21st running of Block Island Race Week, a biennial event run by the Storm Trysail Club. The island, termed one of the country's "Last Great Places" provided spectacular sailing for over 2,000 sailors and 190 boats from around the country.

Kayak Launching Site at Town Dock
Supervisor Jon Kaiman and Councilman Fred L. Pollack announced recently that the town board voted unanimously to authorize the use of the Town Dock for kayaking. As part of the approval, the town will purchase a floating walkway for use as a kayak launching site. The walkway is 5 feet wide and 20 feet long and will provide an ideal launching site for kayakers to enjoy the town's waters.
