On May 5, the 17th annual Manhasset Lacrosse Hall of Fame's Golf Classic and Induction was held and at the event the PAL Scholarships were awarded.

This very proud organization awarded its annual Lacrosse Scholarship Awards to Manhasset Girls' Varsity player Danielle Harris and Boys' Varsity player Mike Demeo.

This award is given annually to a Manhasset High School senior lacrosse player (male and/or female) whose qualities include sportsmanship, leadership, teamwork, team spirit, tenacity, sacrifice and love of the game. This year's recipients, Danielle and Mike, clearly possess those characteristics and thank the Manhassett Hall of Fame and their high school coaches and staff for the recognition.

This scholarship honors the memory of the late W. Harry Baugher, who did so much for the young athletes of Manhasset. The necessary qualifications of this award are the same ideals Mr. Baugher believed in and stressed to the PAL/PBC players whom he coached. His passion and commitment to all athletic competition will never be forgotten.
