Internationally Recognized Artist Commissioned by NASA
The NASA Arts Program was established more than 40 years ago by NASA Administrator James Webb who realized that art could be a creative and lasting way to document the nation's space exploration program. When Manhasset native, artist Barbara Ernst Prey, was commissioned by NASA to paint the International Space Station she joined an elite group of American artists who have been invited by NASA to document space history including Norman Rockwell and Robert Rauschenberg.
Development Seeks Wetlands Designation
Last Thursday evening, June 2, the Village of North Hills Board of Trustees held a public hearing on the status of Chatham at North Hills II, a proposed condominium development for that village.
MHS Track Places Third at Counties
The Manhasset Outdoor Track team placed third at the Nassau County track championships at Mitchel Field, from May 17 to 18. Competing against arch division rivals and other schools of equal caliber, Manhasset placed a competitive third, behind Roosevelt and Oyster Bay, in what turned out to be a day of excellent performances.
