The sixth-grade lacrosse team coached by John Gagliardi and Blake Miller moved its record to 7-2 on the back of wins against Bronxville, Hicksville, and Farmingdale.
The young Indians beat a strong Bronxville team 5-1 due to good, crisp passing and ball control. Manhasset's defense was led by Brian Barbaccia, David Capellini, Max Egan, John Maimone-Medwick, and Sean McEntee. Evan Molloy had 14 saves in yet another strong game in goal. The Hicksville game was a showcase for a balanced offensive attack as nine boys combined for eleven goals. In its latest outing, the sixth grade team from Manhasset defeated Farmingdale 9-1 this past Sunday under a constant rain. The sixth grade boys did not let the inclement weather spoil their afternoon, as they jumped ahead on a Connors-to-Conway goal just six seconds into the game. Manhasset never looked back, executing on defense, in transition, and on offense to record the win. Evan Molloy took a shutout late into the game, recording nine excellent saves. The defense of Brian Barbaccia, Max Egan, John Maimone-Medwick, and Sean McIntee played solid team defense, frustrating nearly every Farmingdale assault. Sean Connors and Harry Kucharczyk were near perfect on faceoffs, setting the tone for the day.
