Munsey Park Road Reconstruction Program
On May 4, the Village of Munsey Park conducted a referendum on whether it should issue bonds to a maximum amount of $6 million dollars to finance the cost of the extensive road repair and rehabilitation program that has been in the planning and development stage for the past six months. Although the village board of trustees had the legal authority to issue bonds without a referendum, a decision was made early in the process that bonds would not be issued without a majority vote in a referendum. A total of two hundred (200) votes were cast in the May 4 referendum with the result being: No: 116. Yes: 83 and one blank vote. The referendum was defeated.

Manhasset Crew Team Brings Home Gold and Bronze From New York State Championships
Under mostly leaden, and at times very rainy skies, the Manhasset High School Crew Team competed in the New York State Rowing Championships this past weekend. The regatta was held at Saratoga Lake, Saratoga Springs. In spite of the weather, the races were held under almost perfect rowing conditions over a 1500-meter course.

JV Lacrosse Posts Undefeated Season
The Manhasset JV Lacrosse team capped off an undefeated season on May 10 by defeating Locust Valley 13-5. The win, coupled with earlier defeats of perennial powers Garden City, Cold Spring Harbor, John Jay, and Darien (CT) brought their record to a perfect 14-0.
