Meet the Candidates Night
The League of Women Voters moderator for Meet the Candidates Night on May 2 ordered, "Remove any campaign buttons, we are not partisan," and the meeting in the Black Box Theatre at Manhasset High School was off and running. Each candidate made an opening statement, answered questions from the community, then made a closing statement.

Dr. William Shine was superintendent of schools in Great Neck for 22 years before becoming interim superintendent of schools in Manhasset. Last week when interviewed by the Manhasset Press he said, "I like to be around kids."

Requirements for Coaches
The CYO of Nassau-Suffolk has mandated that any coach involved in a team representing a parish within the Diocese of Rockville Center must attend a Coaches Sanctioning Workshop that are held throughout the Diocese. If you are interested in coaching a CYO team, you must attend one of these clinics to be certified and allowed to coach. It is a CYO requirement that any person who coaches from the first grade on attend a CYO Sanctioning Workshop. Any person who has not attended a workshop will not be permitted to continue to coach.
