The Manhasset Press posed several questions to the three candidates running for the one Manhasset Board of Education seat being vacated by BOE President, Tom Maimone, who has decided not to run for another term. On Saturday, April 30, Manhasset High School's girl's novice four with coxswain crew won their event at the NJ State Championships held on the Cooper River, Cherry Hill, NJ. The boat consisting of Kira Kennedy (coxswain), Nellie Panzer (stroke), Marina Kajic, Taylor Ferrara, and Cali Giannopoulos was first overall in the qualifying heats, besting 16 other crews. In the six boat final, Manhasset won by over 10 seconds (open water) and posted the fastest time over the 1500 yard course of all girl's junior or novice boats. This is the first State Championship the Manhasset HS Crew has won in its five year history. FULL STORY
