The Manhasset Boys Varsity swim team continued their successful ways by finishing third at the Division Championships. The Indians were the fourth seed entering the meet.

"The goal for this meet is for our younger swimmers to peak and swim personal bests," stated Coach McGrane. Many of them did just that. Leading the way with the most impressive performance of the day was freshmen Brian Kim who improved from an 8:31 to a 7:56 in the 500-yd free. Brian also improved from a 1:48 to a 1:38 in the 100-yd breaststroke. Freshmen Matt Carrozzo improved from a 1:13 100-yd free to a 1:09 and from a 1:27 100-yd back to a 1:25. Freshmen Omi Morshed improved from a 8:31 to a 8:23 in the 500-yd free. Sophomore James McKenna improved from a 1:21 100-yd backstroke to a 1:18 and a 27.7 to a 27.3 in the 50-yd free.

There were many other personal best performances: Jeff Hunt swam a 6:11.6 in the 500-yd free. Arya Morshed swam a 6:26 500-yd free. Mike Zito swam a 25.3 in the 50-yd free and 1:11.78 in the 100-yd breaststroke. Mike Gotimer swam a personal best 1:15.5 in the 100-yd breaststroke. Alex Smitham swam a personal best 57.7 in the 100-yd free. Pete Cobos led the Indians in diving scoring 202 points and finishing in fifth place.

Manhasset's medley relay (John Keneally, Mike Zito, Brian Cogan, James O'Hanlon) swam a season best time of 1:53.25 to earn All-Divison honors. Manhasset's 200-yd free relay (Mike Zito, Mike Gotimer, James O'Hanlon and Brian Cogan) swam a season best 1:40.3 to earn All-Division honors.
