On Tuesday evening, Feb. 1, a musical performance of outstanding caliber occurred in the Munsey Park Elementary auditorium. Students and faculty of the Manhasset Public Schools came together to perform a benefit concert in order to raise funds in support, through the USO, of the men and women who are serving in the United States Military.

It was clear from the very first musical notes, that this would be an event to remember - a collaborative effort between students of incredible talent and faculty members with incredible dedication. Selections from Aaron Copland, Johann Sebastian Bach and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart were chosen. It was a spectacular performance by student soloists, members of the Wind Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra and Concert Choir.

Our admiration is extended to all those students who gave of their time and talent for this evening's benefit concert. Our appreciation is offered to the members of the faculty who directed, assisted and performed during the evening. A very special thank you goes out to faculty members, Mrs. Eileen Murphy, Mr. Randy Knudsen, Mr. Mark van Schenkhof, and Mrs. Sandra Baskin. Without them, this evening would not have been possible.

To any community member who could not attend, you missed an event.

Mary Madden

Executive President, SCA
