The crowd gathered at the North Hempstead Country Club on Saturday, Jan. 15 to celebrate with Eileen Brennan on her retirement, after almost 20 years with Anton Newspapers, most of those as editor of the Manhasset Press. Eileen is the mother of 10 children and many members of her family, representing multi-generations, were present. When one of her daughters, Virginia, formally toasted her mother those present learned that Eileen had won a writing contest, the Prix de Paris, in her senior year of college which resulted in a job at Vogue magazine.
